Alarm Clocks

The money we spend on our kids is made up for by the money we save on alarm clocks and clocks of any kind really. Of course, with kids there is the early morning alarm that goes off, if it's not Q it's H and every morning starts before 8am regardless of how hard we fight it.

The most interesting alarm though is the witching hour one. Every night at 7:30 H gets a bad tummy ache, this tummy ache is a real tummy ache. I know this because he is regurgitating and burping and generally suffering from what looks like heartburn. This tummy ache then ends at precisely 8:09 when he passes out from exhaustion from fighting said tummy ache. It's a strange reality but at least it's predictable and we know where we stand as parents at this time of day.

With him being our 2nd we know that it lasts as long as it has to and then it's over instead of thinking it's a gigantic emergency that we should totally lose it over. It cuts into quiet-Q's-gone-to-bed time but hey, you take what you can get...at this moment H is snuggled in his wrap on my chest breathing peacefully and Q is snuggled in her bed (after a long day at vava's with no nap i might add) and it's time for adult time with some brain free TV watching to rest and gear up for the next alarm, fingers crossed it doesn't come early.
